|The Soileau Courir de Mardi Gras attracted a
good turnout despite threatening skies and sprinkles of rain.
Capitaine Paul Thomas is shown speaking to a television documentary crew
before the courir began.
Once it was under way, Rayfield Lavergne kept the courir in
line with regular blasts from his horn when it was time to move to the next stop.
The courir included both a good contingent of horse riders
and families with small children riding on trailers.
At each stop, the Mardi Gras would dance and cut up.
The pictures on these pages were taken during the first part
of the run, which left Andrew Cezar's sulky racing track in Soileau at about 10 a.m.
