In 2002, Chris Ardoin and Double Clutchin' remain one of the most popular Zydeco bands in Southwest Louisiana. They sometimes perform out of state, but on most weekends, they are performing at one of the Zydeco clubs, at a trailride, or at a festival–sometimes at all three kinds of events.

Chris Ardoin is the title of the group's 2002 CD, released by J&S Records, 160 East Main St., Ville Platte, LA 70586, (337) 363-0123, and recorded at Doucet's Studios in Ville Platte.

The opening track, "All I See Is Pain," has received a lot of airplay on Zydeco radio shows in Southwest Louisiana. Chris Ardoin begins, "When I look in your eyes," with scrubboard player Harold Guillory joining him on the next line,  "all I see is pain." Their vocals, combined with Ardoin's smooth, fluid accordion style and the double clutchin' rhythm, blend together to create a very nice sound.

"Messed Up," a humorous look at relationships, also has been receiving air play. "Your Body," which features more of Chris Ardoin's smooth, polished accordion work, is an expression of physical desire.

All of the songs were written by Chris Ardoin except for "La Robe Barrée," a cut that shows that, when he wants to, Chris Ardoin can do a fine job singing old Creole songs.

In addition to Ardoin on accordion and lead vocals and Guillory and scrubboard and backup vocals, musicians on the CD are Nathanial (Nat) Fontenot on rhythm guitar, Erick Minix on drums, and Wayne Singleton on bass.
