Here are a few more pictures of Alphonse "Bois Sec" Ardoin performing in 2001 at Festival de Musique Acadienne during Festivals Acadiens in Lafayette September 15, 2001, and at Geno Delafose's fan appreciation party October 13, 2001.

At the festival, he once again played with Dirk Powell and Christine Balfa, with Patrick Mould on triangle. In 1998, Bois Sec recorded an album with them, Bois Sec Ardoin with Balfa Toujours, released by Rounder Records.

Earlier in the year, he gave master presentations during the first annual Dewey Balfa Cajun and Creole Heritage Week in April 2001, and, in the evening, he took part in the dances, gliding across the portable wooden dance floor under a large tent.

The top picture in the left column was taken at Eunice's Northwest Community Center Pavilion, where Geno Delafose persuaded Bois Sec to come on stage. The photograph in the right column below was also taken at the pavilion. Lawrence Ardoin, one of Bois Sec's sons, performed with him.

The other pictures were all taken during Festivals Acadiens. Bois Sec Ardoin can be seen wearing a small American flag pinned to his shirt collar and the American flag is draped in the background. Everyone was wearing flags that day, shortly after the September 11 tragedy. He is also wearing a Wal-Mart cap.
