Danny Shuff of Basile and his Bayou Blue Playboys were one of the groups performing at the Liberty Theatre Saturday night. The Liberty Theatre offers great musical performances in French 6-8 p.m. every Saturday. On this particular Saturday, a tour group from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was in the audience, along with other tourists from around the country and overseas. In the top left photo, Shuff raises his accordion as he performs the closing to the late Nathan Abshire's signature song, "The Pine Grove Blues."

   Jambalya, one of the top Cajun bands, has been playing for more than twenty years. Bandleader Terry Huval, shown in the lower right photograph, is one of the master fiddle players in Cajun music. Reggie Matte is the accordionist for the band. The band attracted a large crowd for a street dance Saturday night.
